Directions

Take the A515, north from Ashbourne towards Buxton. After 1 mile turn left ('Ilam Thorpe Dovedale'). Continue 5 miles to Ilam, at T junction turn right. Continue 1 mile up steep hill. When hill levels out on top, Beechenhill is first on the left down farm drive. The farm name is in the stone wall.

Public transport is very limited so a car is fairly essential. Derby (18 miles) has the nearest main line railway station. Public transport details can be found at www.traveline.org.uk

The is a small shop and Post Office in Mayfield (4 miles).
