Description Nestling in the stunning beauty of the Victorian "model village" of Ilam
is Dovedale House, offering a warm welcome to all and excellent facilities.
Well "geared-up" for all Key Stage levels the Centre hosts many visiting
school, college and university groups, offering both "self-programming"
and "guided" stays, often in conjunction with other agencies (e.g. N.T.)
and educational providers (e.g. Outdoor Pursuits). With Dovedale just
a mile away there is ample scope for Field Study work, although possibilities
also include work slightly further afield (e.g. the impact of quarrying
or nearby Carsington Reservoir on the environment). The resident Warden
and Deputy Warden (both qualified teachers) are happy to advise and help,
including with on-site activities (e.g. archery, team-building exercises,
village and church studies).
Dovedale
House is also available for Day Visits.
