Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast
Beechenhill B&B
Our home is a long low traditional farmhouse. Built from local limestone, it has been added to over the centuries since the 1500's.

Our guests have their own entrance, sitting room, dining room and staircase leading to 2 simply decorated en-suite bedrooms with wonderful views south over our lovely garden, and organic farm with grazing cows and sheep.

From March to November we take bookings of two nights or more for bed and breakfast. From November to March, guests staying in our cottages sometimes book our B&B rooms on a room only basis to enable a couple of extra people to stay.  We ask guests not to smoke in our house.

Children
We have cots and high chairs for our younger visitors. If you are a family party and want to book both our B&B bedrooms, children and babies are very welcome. However, we can only accommodate children over three years old if just one room is being booked. The Cottage by the Pond is ideal for families too.

Technology
We have free wifi should you need it.

Food
We take great pride in our farmhouse breakfasts, which are carefully and healthily prepared using local and organic produce where possible, (our suppliers' photos feature on our menus- much to their discomfort!!)

Fruit, cereals and home-made yogurt feature along side a delicious traditional farmhouse breakfast platter (grilled rather than fried). Not forgetting the famous Beechenhill porridges!! Plus home-made bread, toasted with home-made jam - what more could you want to start your day?

After a guest survey of several coffees we plumped to serve Fairtrade Machu Pichu, with its delicious and complex flavours.  We serve Fairtrade teas (from builders breakfast tea to pure and simple Green tea- whatever fits the bill!)

The table mats are elegantly made from recycled tetra paks and the cloth napkins cut down on waste.

The Double Bedroom

The sunny double room has a lovely canopied bed and old polished pine furniture.  All our beds have beautifully laundered cotton linen with over-sized quilts.

A selection of books to browse, a digital TV and a tea tray.   Many a guest has whiled away an afternoon sitting, reading by the wide sill of the mullioned window.

The en-suite shower room has a fish theme, reminiscent of Izaak Walton, our famous local angler.  Up above, the room is insulated with thick layers of sheep wool- actually from the sheep next door!

The Family Bedroom

The large, warm family room with en-suite shower room, its' calm colours and old polished pine, has a comfortable double bed and single bed with another single and cot available on request.

The views are south from the mullioned window, over the garden, organic farm, Manifold Valley, Staffordshire and Derbyshire.

Both Rooms
In both the bedrooms there are selections of books, collections that often get borrowed and added to during the year.  There are wind-up torches for the dark (reading under the bedclothes??)

As well as a welcoming hot drinks tray (with our own organic fresh milk), both rooms have digital TVs, radio alarm clocks and a real attention to detail.

Shower Rooms
The shower rooms are well stocked with gorgeous Faith in Nature products (re-fillable) as well as little essentials, often forgotten.  Towels are happily changed daily, although most guests are pleased to hang them up and use them again (which helps our resources!)

Cancellation Insurance
When you book you enter into a legal contract.  We recommend that you take out
cancellation insurance, just in case the unexpected happens.
